Priorities
If elected, my priorities will always reflect my values and what I believe in. I may not have all the answers but you have my commitment that I will strive to continuously improve the lives of all residents in the 36th District.
Equitable
education
As a product of public schools, there is nothing more important to me than ensuring that our kids have the resources to learn and thrive. To do that, we have to empower our teachers, support smart capital investments for schools, and ensure our students are college and career-ready.

-
I will support increased wages and benefits for teachers and paraprofessionals, including promoting high-retention pathways into teaching and funding teacher residencies.
-
I will continue supporting investments for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and low-income students such as increasing the dollar amount we invest per pupil.
-
I will ensure collaboration between the State and local school districts to improve proficiency rates and reduce dropout rates.
-
I will support continued funding for capital projects and work to increase school impact fees for new developments.
-
I will support access to universal pre-kindergarten.
-
I will work to ensure increased transparency and accountability of school districts.
Sussex County is growing and thriving but the reality is people cannot afford to live here. And if they can't afford to live here, they can't afford to work here.
-
I will work to develop and support initiatives and investments that promote affordable housing for individuals, particularly working professionals, to attract and retain them.
-
I will work with the Delaware Office of State Planning and local municipalities to make sure our local zoning accommodates dense, multi-family development.
-
I will support continued and expanded funding to help first-time homebuyers, such as low-interest loans and down payment assistance from the Delaware State Housing Authority.
Affordable
Housing
Quality
Healthcare
Healthcare is not health care if it isn't affordable. It's no secret that a contributing factor to increased healthcare costs is due to a shortage of medical professionals. We must continue working to reduce costs without compromsing quality of care.
-
I will work to create and support incentives that attract and retain medical professionals to the area, including the building of a medical school.
-
I will work to improve bureaucratic processes to make it easier to get licensed to practice without sacrificing protection and well-being.
-
I will explore opportunities for financial incentives for medical professions that Sussex County has a shortage of.
-
I will work to ensure that all children, regardless of any socioeconomic factor, have access to healthcare.
-
I will continue expanding on mental health-based services in the community and in schools.
I come from a family of small business owners who started with nothing but a dream. That dream must continue for the next generation and beyond.
-
I will continue supporting and expanding investments to help small business owners, including empowering the state's Division of Small Business.
-
I will work to expand resources to minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned business owners.

ensuring access to
Government
As someone who has worked in government at the federal, state, and local levels, I know firsthand the lack of coordination and working relationships between all levels of government. No matter what level of government, a working government where services are streamlined benefits everyone.
-
I will make it a priority to engage officials at the local, county, state, and federal levels to streamline services and better serve communities.
-
I will work to ensure transparency and accountability across the government by making sure people have reasonable access to documents via FOIA.
I believe that a woman's right to reproductive health, including access to abortion, is a decision between her and her provider - not a decision by the government.
-
I will continue to stand up for a woman's right to choose and ensure Delaware continues to be a safe haven for women.
Reproductive health
Protecting the
environment
We depend on our environment as much as the environment depends on us. We must continue being stewards of the environment and ensure that we are protecting, conserving, and restoring it.
-
I will work to protect our watersheds and waterways.
-
I will work with local and state stakeholders to continue finding ways to reduce pollution in the inland bays.
-
I will support preserving and protecting agricultural spaces, farmlands, and open spaces.
Developers are over-developing with very little accountability. As a result, our roads become congested, our schools overpopulated, and ultimately, threatening our open spaces and wildlife habitats.
-
I will advocate for sustainable and transparent growth plans while holding Sussex County Council accountable for future plans.
Maintaining
Balanced Growth
Upholding
Voting Rights
Expanding the ways in which we participate in our democracy should be viewed as a good thing in terms of increasing voter participation.
-
I will support a constitutional amendment to allow for no-excuse absentee voting and early in-person voting.
-
I will support a constitutional amendment allowing for same-day registration.
-
I will support amending existing campaign finance laws to ensure accountability of candidates seeking office.
To ensure that Delaware meets its greenhouse gas emissions reductions while also promoting healthier lifestyles, we must invest in cleaner infrastructure.
-
I will support clean energy initiatives that help reduce carbon emissions.
-
I will support electrifying public transit, including school transit.
-
I will work with local and state partners to promote additional recreational venues, including sidewalks and bicycle paths.

Protecting
Human Rights
It is up to each generation to continue upholding and safeguarding human rights and finding ways to reduce discrimination and inequities anywhere. I will continue supporting individuals regardless of their sex, gender, race, disability, income level, housing status, or other protected classes.
We deserve a place safe to live, play, and work. Our first responders deserve to have enough resources to do their job.
-
I will advocate for funding for essential services for EMT, fire, and police services.
-
I will support participation in the county and municipal police/firefighter pension plan by persons who are employed full-time as either a paid firefighter or a paid emergency medical technician or both.
-
I will advocate for responsible gun safety legislation, including legislation that alerts local law enforcement when a person fails a background check.
Investing in
Public Safety
Criminal
Justice System
We need a balanced criminal justice system where no one is above the law and no one is beneath it.

-
I will support initiatives that will help those who were formerly incarcerated assimilate back into society.
-
I will support efforts to reduce recidivism.
-
I will support legislation that removes fines and fees as a barrier to expungement eligibility.
